Free Google Reviews Widgets Compared

Nearly every Google reviews widget has a free plan, and nearly every one is limited in a different way. This table puts the limits side by side, read from each vendor's own pricing page, including the rows where Zyff's free plan is not the best.

Every vendor's pricing page last read 2026-10-23. Page reviewed 2026-10-23.

In short

  • Monthly view limits on free plans run from 200 (Elfsight, Common Ninja and Zyff) to 2,000 (SociableKit). Featurable and Shapo list views as unlimited, with other caps.
  • Every free plan that states its branding keeps the vendor's name or link on the widget.
  • Free plans rarely refresh reviews by themselves. Automatic sync is a paid feature almost everywhere; EmbedSocial's free plan is the exception.
  • Where a vendor states it, a free widget shows between five reviews (Common Ninja) and 50 (Zyff).
  • Check the billing period before the price: several vendors display a yearly-billed price as their monthly figure.

About this comparison

This page compares the free plans of eight Google reviews widgets, including Zyff's. Every figure was read from the vendor's own pricing or help pages on the date at the top. Where a vendor does not state something, the table says "not stated" rather than filling the gap from a third-party blog.

Zyff publishes this page and is one of the eight, which is worth knowing before reading it. Its free plan does not top the table on monthly views, and the table does not pretend otherwise.

Free-plan limits are the fastest-changing facts in this category. If a figure matters to your decision, follow the source link and check it before you build on it.

The free plans, side by side

Views lead the table because they are what a free plan runs out of first. "Reviews shown" is how many reviews the free widget displays, where the vendor states it; "refresh" is how new reviews arrive on the free plan.

What a view limit means in practice

A view is one load of a page that shows the widget. 200 views a month is about 7 page loads a day — enough for a new site's testimonials page, and nowhere near enough for a widget in a site-wide footer.

Placement matters more than traffic. A widget on one page is counted when that page loads; the same widget in a footer is counted on every page of the site.

The vendors differ on what happens when the month runs out. Elfsight's pricing page says the app is temporarily deactivated, and its help centre says the widget disappears for visitors until the reset. EmbedSocial says widgets stop showing until the 1st of the month. SociableKit says the widget may stop displaying normally. Zyff replaces the widget with a short notice saying its monthly view limit has been reached, until the 1st (UTC) or an upgrade.

How new reviews arrive

On a free plan, reviews mostly arrive when you ask. SociableKit's free plan takes manual sync requests, about once a day; Trustindex's free plugin refreshes manually, roughly every one to two weeks; Common Ninja's plan table reserves automatic review updates for its Pro and Ultimate plans. EmbedSocial is the exception, syncing every 24 hours on its free plan.

Zyff is unusual in the other direction: it collects new reviews only when you ask, on every plan, free or paid. There is no background job collecting on a schedule. If you want reviews to appear without pressing anything, a paid plan elsewhere with automatic sync is the better fit.

How many reviews a free widget shows

Many review widgets show five reviews because Google's Places API returns at most five per request and has no way to ask for the rest. Common Ninja's free plan lists five; Trustindex's free plugin shows up to ten; Featurable's free widget shows fifteen.

Zyff collects from your public Google Maps listing instead — up to 200 reviews per business — and a widget can show up to 50 at once, on the free plan as on paid ones. Where a vendor states no number, the table says so.

How this table was made

The vendors are the ones most often named in search results and AI answers for a free Google reviews widget when Zyff checked in October 2026, plus Zyff itself. Every cell comes from the vendor's own pricing page or help centre, read on the date at the top of this page. Third-party reviews and listicles were not used.

Where a vendor's own pages disagreed, the table follows its main pricing page and says so: Common Ninja's English and Spanish pricing pages showed different prices and plan shapes, Shapo's Google review widget page gives its free review cap as both 15 and 10, and Elfsight prints a struck-through price beside its yearly price without saying what it is.

When another free plan is the better choice

  • Your widget will be seen more than a few hundred times a month and you will not pay: SociableKit's free plan allows 2,000 views, and EmbedSocial's 500.
  • You want no view cap at all on a free plan and can live with fifteen reviews and the vendor's branding: Featurable lists unlimited views, rate-limited above 10,000 page views a day.
  • Your site runs on WordPress and you would rather install a plugin than paste a snippet: Trustindex's free plugin is built for that.
  • You want reviews to update without pressing anything, for free: EmbedSocial syncs every 24 hours on its free plan.

When Zyff is the better choice

  • You want to choose which reviews appear from up to 200 collected, and show up to 50, without paying.
  • Your page stays within 200 views a month, or $3 a month billed monthly is an acceptable step up.
  • You want other widget types — testimonials, an FAQ, opening hours — under the same plan.
  • You want to build and preview a widget before creating an account.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free Google reviews widget?

It depends on your traffic and on how many reviews you want shown. For the most free views, SociableKit's free plan allows 2,000 a month. For no view cap, Featurable lists unlimited views with fifteen reviews. For the most reviews on a free widget, Zyff shows up to 50 of up to 200 collected, but its free plan stops at 200 views a month.

Is there a free Google reviews widget with no view limit?

Two vendors list unlimited views on a free plan, each with a different catch. Featurable rate-limits free widgets on sites that consistently exceed 10,000 page views a day and shows fifteen reviews; Shapo lists unlimited impressions but caps the whole account at a small number of testimonials. Every other free plan here has a monthly view limit or does not state one.

Why do so many review widgets show only five reviews?

Because Google's Places API returns at most five reviews per request, sorted by relevance, with no way to page through the rest. Widgets built only on that API show five. Zyff collects from the public Google Maps listing instead, up to 200 per business, and falls back to the API's five only if that collection fails.

Do free Google reviews widgets update automatically?

Mostly not. SociableKit's free plan syncs when you request it, about once a day; Trustindex's free plugin refreshes manually; Common Ninja keeps automatic updates for its Pro and Ultimate plans. EmbedSocial's free plan syncs every 24 hours. Zyff refreshes when you ask, on every plan.

Can I remove the branding from a free review widget?

Not on any free plan here that states its branding policy: each keeps the vendor's name or link on the widget, and removing it is part of a paid plan. Zyff's free attribution is a small "Reviews by Zyff" link under the widget.
