Zyff's text tools all work today. Which text tool do I want for what?
Word Counter when the question is how long something is, or whether it fits — it holds the real limits for X, meta descriptions, SMS, Instagram and LinkedIn and tells you how close you are. Case Converter when the letters are wrong, with its own page per job: title case by style guide, sentence case for an all-caps block, snake_case and its siblings for a variable name, and a slug generator for a URL. Diff Checker when you have two versions of something and need to see what moved between them.
What is the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?
Title Case capitalizes the first letter of each significant word, the way a headline is set. Sentence case capitalizes only the first word plus any proper nouns, the way ordinary prose is written. The Case Converter does both from the same pasted text, and because the style guides genuinely disagree about which short words stay lowercase, title case is offered per guide — AP, APA, Chicago, MLA, New York Times and Wikipedia — rather than as one house rule.
Do the text tools handle text pasted out of Word or Google Docs?
Yes, and it is worth knowing what comes with it: a paste from a word processor carries smart quotes, non-breaking spaces and stray line breaks alongside the words. Those are real characters and they count, which is one reason a total here can differ from the one your document showed you.
Will my text be stored?
No. Like every other Zyff tool, the text tools process what you send in memory on the server and keep nothing afterwards. There is no account, no saved drafts and no history, so closing the tab is the whole of the cleanup.
Why use a word counter when my editor already has one?
Because the number you need is often not the one your editor shows. Word processors disagree on how they treat hyphenated words, numbers and footnotes, and most will not give you characters without spaces, sentence count and reading time side by side.
Are there limits on how much text I can paste?
Yes, and each is enforced on the server rather than only in the input box: 200,000 characters for the Word Counter, 100,000 for the Case Converter, and 500,000 characters or 30,000 lines per side for the Diff Checker. Those are sized for real work — an essay, a product page, a config file, a batch of headlines — rather than for pasting an entire book.
