Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of zyff.io, including every tool, API endpoint and embeddable widget on it. Zyff is free and needs no account, so there is little to say about billing and rather more to say about what you may do with the tools and what we do and do not promise. Accepting these terms
By using zyff.io you agree to these terms. There is no account to create, so acceptance happens through use rather than a checkbox. If you do not agree with them, do not use the site.
You need to be able to form a binding agreement to accept these terms. If you are using Zyff for an employer, a client or another organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept on its behalf, and "you" then means that organization as well. Zyff is not directed to children.
These terms are written to be understood rather than to be impressive. They are still the agreement between us, and they are not legal advice about your own situation.
What Zyff provides
Zyff is a collection of small web utilities: compressing, resizing and converting images, removing backgrounds, and building embeddable widgets. The tools run on Zyff's servers. Your browser sends the input, the server does the work, and the result comes back in the response.
Some tools listed on the site are not built yet and say so on their own page. Listing a tool is a statement of intent, not a commitment to a launch date or to a particular feature set once it ships.
Zyff is a utility, not storage and not a backup service. Uploads are processed in memory and are not retained, so download your result before you close the tab. If you lose it, we have no copy to send you.
Free use, and fair limits
Every tool on Zyff is free to use. There is no signup, no card, no watermark added to output and no export locked behind a paywall. We collect no payment for the tools, so no billing, refund or subscription terms apply.
Free also sets reasonable expectations on both sides. Zyff enforces limits so one visitor cannot make the service unusable for everyone else, and those limits are shown on the tool that applies them. We may add, adjust or retire limits on file size, batch count, request rate and supported formats as the service and its costs change.
You may use tool output commercially, and there is no attribution requirement on the files you produce. That permission concerns Zyff only, and depends entirely on you holding the rights to the input you uploaded. There is no paid support tier and no service level agreement.
Acceptable use
The rules below exist to keep a free service running and lawful. They apply to the site, the API endpoints behind the tools, and any widget you generate. You agree not to:
If traffic or content breaches these rules, we may block or rate-limit it, and remove or disable a widget, without prior notice. Good-faith security research reported to info@esplanda.com is welcome and will not be treated as a violation, provided you do not access other people's data, degrade the service, or publish an unfixed issue.
- Upload or process content that is illegal where you are or where Zyff operates, and in particular any content that sexually exploits or endangers a child
- Process content you do not own and have no permission to use, including copyrighted images and photographs you did not license
- Use any tool to strip a watermark, credit line, signature or copyright notice from work you have no right to alter — removing your own mark from your own file is what the tool is for, and removing someone else's to pass their work off as your own is not
- Attempt to overload, degrade or take down the service, including automated bulk submission, distributed request floods, scraping our endpoints, or wiring our API into your own product, script or competing service
- Circumvent published limits, probe for vulnerabilities beyond good-faith reporting, or try to reach systems, data or accounts you are not authorized to reach
- Upload malware, or files crafted to exploit the image decoders and libraries that run on our servers
- Build a widget that displays a business you do not represent, or that presents a rating or review set in a way designed to mislead
- Resell, sublicense, white-label or otherwise present Zyff as your own service
Your files stay yours
You keep every right you had in the files you upload and in the output you download. Zyff claims no ownership of your content, takes no license to publish, display or reuse it, and does not use it for training, promotion, examples or benchmarks.
The only permission you grant is the narrow one needed to do the job you asked for: receive the file, decode it, transform it according to the settings you chose, and return the result. That permission ends when the request ends, because the file does too.
You are responsible for having the rights to whatever you upload, and by uploading it you confirm that you do. Since nothing is stored, there is also no copy for us to delete on request, restore after a mistake, or hand to anyone else.
Zyff's own intellectual property
The site itself belongs to Zyff: its source code, design system, layout, copy, page structure, brand name, logo and icons. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you, and using a free tool does not grant a license to the software behind it.
You are free to use what a tool produces for you. That includes the output file, and the embed snippet and widget markup a builder generates, on sites you own or control. You may modify that snippet to fit your page.
You may not copy the site or its tool pages substantially in order to run a competing service, and you may not use the Zyff name, logo or brand in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation or partnership that does not exist.
Widgets you embed on your own site
A widget you generate here runs on your page and calls Zyff when that page renders. It is a live dependency, not a finished file: it keeps working while Zyff serves it and while the underlying data source remains available. Plan for that the way you would for any third-party embed.
Your site remains yours to comply with. That includes your own privacy notice describing the requests the embed makes, any consent mechanism you operate, your accessibility obligations, and the rules of the platform whose data you are displaying.
Review content shown by the Google Reviews widget comes from the Google Places API and belongs to the reviewers who wrote it. Your use of that content is subject to Google's terms in addition to these. The widget can filter which reviews it displays, and how you present reviews to your customers is your responsibility, including the honesty rules that apply to reviews and testimonials in your market. Do not use a widget to represent a business you have no authority over, or to imply a rating other than the one the source actually shows.
Third-party services Zyff depends on
Zyff relies on services we do not control. Hosting, request routing and analytics come from Vercel, and the Google Reviews widget depends on the Google Places API. Their availability, pricing and terms directly affect what Zyff can offer.
If a third-party API changes its fields, tightens its rate limits, alters its pricing or withdraws access, a Zyff feature may change or disappear along with it. That is a consequence of the dependency, not a breach of these terms.
Links from Zyff to other sites are provided for convenience. They are not endorsements, and we are not responsible for the content, practices or terms of any site we link to.
Availability and changes to the service
Zyff is provided on an as-available basis with no uptime guarantee. Deploys, maintenance, provider incidents, traffic spikes and upstream API failures can all interrupt it, and a free utility does not come with a promise that it will answer at the moment you need it.
We may change, limit, suspend or discontinue any tool, endpoint or widget at any time, including changing supported formats, limits and output behavior. Where a change would break existing embeds we will try to keep them working, but we cannot commit to it indefinitely. Keep your own copies of anything you depend on.
We may also block, throttle or restrict traffic that threatens the stability of the service or the experience of other users, including traffic that is technically within a published limit but abusive in aggregate.
No warranty
Zyff and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, along with any warranty about accuracy, reliability, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.
In practical terms: we do not warrant that a compressed file will hit a specific target size, that a background cutout will be pixel-perfect on difficult edges, that a converted file will open in a particular application, that a business lookup will find your profile, or that any output is fit for print, legal, medical, forensic or archival use. Inspect results before you rely on them, and keep your original file.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zyff and the people who build and operate it will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost or corrupted files, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or the cost of substitute services, arising out of or connected to your use of or inability to use the site, even if we were advised that such damages were possible.
Because Zyff is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the site is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to use it, which is zero, or one hundred US dollars.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Zyff and the people who operate it from any claim, demand, damage, loss, liability or reasonable legal cost arising out of content you upload or process, a widget you publish, your breach of these terms, or your infringement of anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
We may take over the defense of any such claim at our own expense, and you agree not to settle a claim in a way that imposes an obligation on Zyff without our written agreement.
Governing law, disputes and the fine print
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at Zyff's place of operation, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute that cannot be resolved informally may be brought before the courts having jurisdiction there. If mandatory consumer-protection law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally or to rely on your local law, these terms do not take that right away.
Since Zyff is free and has no accounts, the fastest route through almost any dispute is email. Write to info@esplanda.com with what happened and what you want, and we will try to resolve it before anyone involves a court.
Three standard points close this out. If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, it is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a provision immediately, we have not waived our right to enforce it later. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about your use of Zyff, and they replace any earlier version of them.
Changes to these terms, and how to reach us
When these terms change, the revised version is posted on this page and the effective date at the top is updated. Material changes will be summarized here rather than made quietly. Continuing to use Zyff after a change means you accept the revised terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the site.
Because there are no accounts, there is no mailing list to notify you through, so the effective date on this page is the record of when the terms last moved.
Support questions, legal notices, security reports and takedown requests all go to info@esplanda.com. Include enough detail, and the URL involved, for us to act without a round trip.
