How to remove the background from an image
Upload your photo

Check the cutout

How do I make an image background transparent?
Upload the photo and the cutout runs automatically, then leave Background set to Transparent and export as PNG or WebP. Both store an alpha channel, so the subject sits on any color or layout with no white box behind it. JPEG cannot hold transparency, so picking it fills the background with your chosen color instead.
Can I remove a white background from a product photo?
Yes, and that is one of the cleanest cases, since a packshot on white or gray has strong contrast between subject and backdrop. For hard-edged products, drag cutout sensitivity below balanced to cut tighter, and use edge trim to pull the outline inward a pixel or two if any of the old background survives as a halo.
How well does it handle hair, fur and fine edges?
Well enough for most portraits, though it is not a replacement for hand-matting fine detail. The model produces a soft alpha ramp rather than a hard cut, and fringe removal repaints edge pixels with the nearby subject color so the old background does not bleed through. Raise sensitivity to keep more wisps.
Why doesn't the background remover work well on some images?
Transparent and reflective subjects such as glass, bottles, veils and mesh, because the model scores each pixel as subject or background and cannot represent see-through material. Very low-contrast scenes, heavy motion blur and frames with several scattered subjects also give loose masks. The coverage readout under the result is a quick sanity check.
Can I remove the background from several images at once?

What are the file size and resolution limits?
25 MB per upload and 30 megapixels of source resolution, both enforced on the server rather than only in the interface. The pixel cap is lower than Zyff's other image tools because every pixel goes through mask shaping, fringe removal and compositing on top of the encode. Resize a larger photo first, then cut it out.
Can I blur the background instead of erasing it?
Yes. Switch Background to Blur and the original photo is blurred behind the cutout subject at a strength you set from 1 to 100. The blur radius scales with the image's own dimensions, so the same slider position looks consistent on a phone snap and on a full-size camera file.
Is the background remover free, and is the download watermarked?
It is free, needs no signup, and adds no watermark or resolution cap to what you download. Uploads are processed in memory on Zyff's servers and never stored. The full-resolution cutout is the output, with no paid tier holding back the good export.
Can I remove the background from a signature or a logo?
