Zyff vs Common Ninja

Common Ninja and Zyff both hand you a snippet to paste into any site builder, and both have a free plan with the same two limits. Past the free plan, they price on different ideas.

Common Ninja prices by the number of widgets you need, and every paid plan has unlimited monthly pageviews. Zyff prices by monthly views and saved widgets, on the same ladder as Elfsight, and one plan's widget allowance covers every widget type it builds.

The read date is printed at the top. Common Ninja's English pricing page, its Spanish pricing page and the plan table embedded in its pricing page showed different figures that day, so treat the prices below as indicative and confirm them at checkout.

On paper the free plans are equivalent: 200 monthly views, 1 widget, and the vendor's branding on the widget. Neither asks for a card.

The difference shows on review widgets. Common Ninja's plan table lists five reviews displayed on its free plan, and reserves automatic review updates for its Pro and Ultimate plans. Zyff's free plan collects up to 200 Google reviews per business and shows up to 50 at once — but on Zyff, new reviews are collected only when you ask from the editor, on every plan, free or paid.

Common Ninja's paid plans — Essentials, Pro and Ultimate — all list unlimited monthly pageviews and remove the branding. The price scales with how many widgets you buy. On the plan table embedded in its pricing page, one widget cost $3.50, $4.75 or $8 a month billed monthly, or $1.75, $2.80 or $4.55 a month billed yearly.

The figures depended on where they were read: the text on the same English pricing page listed $24.00, $38.40 and $62.40 a year for a single widget billed yearly, and noted that discounts may apply at checkout.

Zyff's paid tiers start at $3 a month, billed monthly, for 3 saved widgets and 5,000 monthly views, and rise on the same ladder Elfsight uses. Views are capped at every tier except the top one.

It depends on two numbers: how many widgets you need, and how many times they render a month. Billed monthly, Zyff's Basic plan costs less than a single Common Ninja widget and covers 3. Billed yearly, one Common Ninja widget costs less than Zyff's Basic plan.

Traffic decides the rest. Zyff's Basic plan stops at 5,000 views a month across all its widgets, while Common Ninja has no pageview cap on any paid plan. A single widget on a page that gets tens of thousands of views a month is squarely Common Ninja's case.

Common Ninja says it offers more than 200 widget types. Zyff builds 31, focused on the widgets small business sites embed most. If the widget you need is only in Common Ninja's catalogue, that settles it.
