About the Testimonials Widget
Zyff's testimonials widget displays the quotes your customers have given you, free. Add each quote with a name, an optional role, photo and star rating, then show them as cards, a carousel, a stacked list, or one large pull quote at a time. It publishes no review structured data on purpose — these are quotes you typed in yourself, and unverified review markup is a Google violation that would land on your domain. For verified Google reviews, Zyff has a separate widget that reads your Business Profile. The output is one div and one script tag that works in WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow or a hand-written HTML page alike.
How to add testimonials to your website
Add your quotes
Paste each testimonial with the customer's name, and optionally their role or company, a photo and a star rating. A rating of none hides the stars for that one quote.
Pick a layout
Cards read as a set, the carousel pages through a long list, the stacked list suits a narrow sidebar, and the single pull quote gives one testimonial the whole width.
Decide what each quote shows
Stars, photos, roles and the large quotation mark are toggled for the whole widget rather than per quote, so the set stays visually consistent.
Copy the embed code
Paste the container div and script tag where the testimonials should appear, or download the standalone HTML file. Check the 390px mobile preview before you ship it.
What the Testimonials Widget does

A grid of cards, an auto-advancing carousel, a stacked column for narrow spaces, and a single large pull quote for one testimonial at a time.
Honest by construction
No Review or AggregateRating markup is emitted, because nothing verifies these quotes. That protects your domain from the structured-data violation that self-serving review markup is.
Stars without the claim
The star display is presentation only and hidden from assistive technology, so nothing machine-readable asserts a rating exists. Set a quote to no stars and they disappear for that one entry.
Never a broken avatar
A customer without a photo gets their initial on a tinted circle, so a set assembled over time never shows a broken-image icon on a live page.
Carousel that behaves
Autoplay pauses while the tab is hidden, so a visitor returning to your page finds the carousel where they left it, and it does not advance at all for visitors who ask for reduced motion.
Nothing to slow your page
The widget runs in the visitor's browser from the settings in your snippet, makes no request to Zyff when your page loads, and can wait until it is scrolled near.

Frequently asked questions
How do I add testimonials to my website?
Add each quote in Zyff's builder with the customer's name, pick a layout, then copy the generated embed code into your page. The whole flow is free with no signup, and the snippet is plain HTML, so it drops into any CMS block that accepts custom code.
Will these testimonials show stars in Google search results?
No, and any tool that suggests otherwise is pointing you at a penalty. Review markup you write about yourself is self-serving structured data, which Google explicitly disallows and treats as grounds for a manual action — against your domain. This widget therefore publishes no review markup at all. The stars are presentation for your visitors.
What is the difference between this and the Google Reviews widget?
This one shows quotes you have collected and typed in yourself, so nothing verifies them. Zyff's Google Reviews widget reads your actual Google Business Profile through the Places API, so the reviews, the star average and the count are all real and come from Google. Use that one if you want verified reviews.
Can I import reviews from Google or Facebook here?
No. This widget is for testimonials you hold yourself — an email a client sent, a quote from a case study. For Google reviews, use Zyff's Google Reviews widget, which reads your public Business Profile directly. Facebook has no equivalent because Meta's review data needs app review that is not open to a small tools site.
Should I use real names on testimonials?
Ask the customer first — a quote from an email is not automatically permission to publish their name, role and photo. "Priya R., Operations Lead" is a common compromise. It is their personal data, and in most jurisdictions publishing it needs a basis.
How many testimonials should I show?
Three to six on a page, and the rest on a dedicated page if you have them. Past about six, visitors stop reading and start scrolling, which is why the carousel and the pull-quote layouts exist — they show a few at a time rather than all of them.
Does the carousel keep advancing in a background tab?
No. Autoplay pauses whenever the tab is hidden, so a visitor who leaves your page open and comes back finds the carousel roughly where they left it rather than somewhere arbitrary. It also does not autoplay at all for visitors who ask for reduced motion.
Where do I paste the testimonials embed code?
Wherever the quotes should appear — under a product description, partway down a home page, or on a dedicated testimonials page. Put the container div in that spot and keep the script tag with it.
Is the testimonials widget really free?
Yes. Building it, styling it and embedding it are free with no signup, no trial and no watermark — a free embed carries a small "Testimonials by Zyff" link, which is how the tool stays free. The cards and stacked list layouts are free, and there is no limit on quotes below 30. An optional account saves a widget so you can edit it later, and a paid plan adds the carousel and pull-quote layouts, full colour control and removes the attribution link.
