Page size defaults to the image's own dimensions with no border; switch it to A4 or US Letter and each image is scaled down to fit and centred, never enlarged and never cropped. **Can I convert BMP files?** Yes — BMP goes in and converts to any of the output formats, which is the usual reason to open one at all. 1, 4, 8, 16, 24 and 32-bit BMPs are all read, in both the bottom-up and top-down row layouts, and 32-bit files with a real alpha channel keep their transparency. The one exception is an RLE-compressed BMP, which is refused with a message rather than a broken image; re-saving it uncompressed or as a PNG fixes that. **Does the PDF keep transparency?** Only with Lossless turned on. A normal PDF page embeds the image as a JPEG, which has no alpha channel, so transparent areas are flattened onto the background color you pick. Turning on Lossless embeds the image uncompressed instead and carries the alpha channel through as a PDF soft mask, so transparency survives — at a much larger file size, which is why lossless pages are capped at 25 megapixels. That covers the logos, line art and screenshots the mode is for; for a large photo, leave Lossless off. **Can I convert multiple images at once?** Yes. Queue up to 25 files of 25 MB each and they are converted with the same settings, three at a time. With PDF selected, Combine into 1 PDF returns the batch as one multi-page document instead. **Will converting to JPG remove transparency?** Yes, because JPEG has no alpha channel. Transparent areas are composited onto the background color you choose in the settings panel, which avoids the black fringes you get when an encoder flattens alpha on its own. Pick PNG, WebP, AVIF or TIFF if the transparency needs to survive. **Does the converter keep EXIF data and GPS location?** Not by default. EXIF, IPTC and XMP are stripped during the re-encode, so camera settings and GPS coordinates don't travel with the converted file. Turn on Keep EXIF metadata under Advanced if you want them preserved. The ICC color profile is kept by default so wide-gamut photos don't shift color. **Can I convert an animated GIF to WebP and keep the animation?** Yes. Every frame is carried over when the target format can hold more than one, so animated GIF to animated WebP works in both directions.
